Chaloem Phrakiat Waterfall, Rama IX, Yala

Another important tourist attraction of Betong is located on Highway 410 Yala-Betong, at kilometer 33, Ban Km.32. The original name was “Wang Weng” or “Aiyer Kem” waterfall because it was named after the Chinese who came to mine with the French during the Malay-British colonial era. The name Kheng was changed to “Ai Kheng” by the locals, “Ai Kheng”, “Ai Keng”, which was later changed to “Aiyer Kem”. Later, in the auspicious year of the 72nd birthday of His Majesty King Bhumibol Adulyadej in 1999, the route was developed and turned into a tourist attraction.
