🌾 [Biei, Hokkaido] A trip to the hill town where you can relax in the patchwork of the earth ⸻ 🌟 The charms and attractions of Biei • Colorful hilly landscape: On the "Patchwork Road" and "Panorama Road", you can enjoy the spectacular scenery of flowers and fields by bicycle or drive. The contrast with the Tokachi mountain range seen from the hills is truly a symbol of Japan's original landscape . • Shirogane Blue Pond: Although it is an artificial pond, the contrast between the blue of the water and the standing dead trees is mysterious. From spring to summer, it is cobalt blue, and in autumn it harmonizes with the autumn leaves, and in winter the lighting is fantastic . • Shirahige Falls: About 2.5 km from the Blue Pond. You can ride along the Patchwork Road and Panorama Road while feeling the breeze. • Farm experience: You can also experience the life of Biei through workshops with local farmers (such as harvesting asparagus and wheat, stargazing, etc.). ⸻ 📅Recommended seasons to visit • Spring (May and June): The blue pond turns greenish blue due to the melting snow. The flower fields are just about to start . • Summer (July to August): The colorful flower fields and the emerald blue pond are at their peak. • Autumn (September to October): The contrast between the autumn leaves and the indigo blue is exquisite. The crowds also calm down a little. • Winter (November to February): Biei is fantastic, covered in snow and ice. The illumination of the blue pond stands out even more. ⸻ 🧭Travel tips 1. The light in the morning is beautiful! The rural hills and the blue pond are most vivid in the morning light. We recommend visiting before 9:00. 2. The night illumination is also a rare experience: The blue pond (mid-November to February) is lit up at night, creating a fantastic space that is different from the daytime . 3. Clothing and preparation: UV protection in summer and cold protection in winter are essential. Wear comfortable clothing for hill walking and cycling. 4. Relax in nearby hot springs: Soak in the soft waters of Shirogane Onsen to soothe your tired body after a nature walk. 3.
