Fred Dibnah MBE

#europeonbudget Fred Dibnah MBE (28 April 1938 - 6 November 2004) was a Bolton-born steeplejack and eccentric whose love of mechanical engineering made him a cult TV personality. Fred Dibnah's house and yard is situated at 121 Radcliffe Road, Haulgh, Bolton, Greater Manchester, England. A grand Victorian gatehouse on the Earl of Bradford's estate, it was owned by Fred from the late 1960's until his untimely death in 2004. For a short period after his death the house operated as the Fred Dibnah Heritage Centre but was subsequently closed and the property sold. Great to get a look around the place,wanted to see the place for years! And great to chat to the new owner and find out he’s doing glamping on the site down by the river! Will definitly be back!!
