Finally found the super cool hotel in Chengdu

Comprehensive stay review of The Ritz-Carlton, Chengdu As the fifth Ritz-Carlton hotel I’ve checked into this year, The Ritz-Carlton, Chengdu has completely changed my preconceived notions with its outstanding experience and excellent value for money. Compared to The Ritz-Carlton Beijing China World and The Ritz-Carlton Tianjin, this Chengdu property excels in both service details and overall stay experience, making it undoubtedly one of the top 5 luxury hotels in Chengdu not to be underestimated. 🧹Soundproofing/Cleanliness: The overall environment is quiet and comfortable, with well-maintained fitness center facilities. The gym is fully equipped and noticeably upgraded since my last visit. The standard swimming pool is complemented by well-functioning dry and wet steam rooms, and the changing rooms are clean and tidy. Thoughtful touches like ice towels and ice water outside the dry steam room, and quick-dry bathrobes inside the lockers, highlight quality and attentiveness. Although the cleaning frequency of the changing rooms is slightly low, the overall hygiene remains within an acceptable range. 🏘️Room Type/Layout: Thanks to a lucky Platinum upgrade, I stayed in a 97-square-meter Executive Suite. The cleverly designed walk-in closet naturally separates the living room from the master bedroom, with a reasonable spatial layout. Although the room shows some signs of aging due to the renovation period, such as a slight odor upon check-in and a limited view caused by adjacent residential buildings outside the living room window, the unique perspective of Tianfu Square from the sofa area and bathroom offers a special urban charm. Some guests have also reported that the screen window switch is a bit slow to respond and the floor lamp by the window occasionally has contact issues, but these do not affect the overall comfort and practicality of the stay. 🛌Amenities/Facilities: The hotel’s public areas are highlights, with flair bar standing out thanks to its distinctive cocktail menu, trendy atmosphere, and live singer performances. The ice cube-shaped ambient lights further enhance the vibe. However, the taste of the drinks varies individually, and some guests have noted that the quality of alcoholic beverages delivered to rooms does not match the on-site experience. Additionally, the hotel features a well-equipped fitness center and a lounge with recliners overlooking Panda Tower and FCC, paired with warm, comforting hot black tea, adding to the relaxation experience. 💁Service Quality: From online communication via the app to offline check-in, and from room service to bar experience, the staff consistently maintain a friendly, attentive, and thorough service attitude. They patiently respond to and efficiently resolve all kinds of requests. The only minor drawback is in the room service delivery, where disposable cups were once used for serving alcohol without any plating or decoration. It is hoped that service details can be further optimized in the future. 🍽️Dining Experience: The Executive Lounge privileges are a major highlight, featuring exquisite dishes, delicious desserts, and high-quality tea. The roasted salmon served during dinner is especially memorable. Breakfast is equally abundant, with the Chengdu-specialty panda latte art coffee adding a delightful touch to the dining experience. Lunch and dinner offer a rich variety of dishes with good flavors, although the afternoon tea desserts are relatively plain. Overall, the dining quality is commendable. 💰Average Cost: Staying in a Ritz-Carlton Executive Suite for around a thousand yuan per night offers exceptional value for money, highly competitive among hotels of the same grade. Compared to Marriott properties like JW Marriott Chengdu Maoye and St. Regis Chengdu, The Ritz-Carlton, Chengdu stands out with better service and experience at similar price points, making it an excellent choice for those seeking quality and value. 📍Location: The hotel is located around Tianfu Square. Although it is an established downtown area that has somewhat lost its luster with the rise of new commercial districts, the surrounding transportation is convenient and the supporting facilities are mature. For those who prioritize location advantages, hotels like Hyatt, Langham, and Niccolo can also be considered. 💗Other Tips: The Ritz-Carlton, Chengdu is especially suitable for guests who pursue high-quality accommodation experiences while valuing cost-effectiveness. Despite minor issues such as room views and drink flavors, these do not overshadow the overall excellence. The quality service, rich facilities, and affordable prices make it a top choice for accommodation in Chengdu. Whether for business trips or leisure vacations, you are sure to have an unforgettable stay here!
