#VisitChongqing – People's Liberation Monument (Jiefangbei) Jiefangbei, or the People's Liberation Monument, is a historical symbol of Chongqing. It was originally a memorial to the victory of the Anti-Japanese War and was built in 1947. It is the center of political, economic, and cultural transformation after the war. Today, this area is the city's busiest pedestrian street, filled with shopping malls, shops, and delicious local food such as hot pot, spicy and sour noodles, and mountain glutinous rice balls. It is also known as a fashion street because of the people, especially Chongqing women, who dress up beautifully and catch the eye. During festivals, there are various celebrations here, especially New Year's Eve, which is full of people and has a lively atmosphere. It is also convenient to travel there. Take the subway line 1 or 2 and get off at Jiaochangkou Station. It is a short walk away. Anyone visiting Chongqing must not miss this spot!
