Ran into random elevators and escalators built into cliffs. It’s a whole scene. Jiefangbei was buzzing, but the side streets were where the real magic was. I wandered into a quiet tea shop, found a hidden book café, and got lost in a maze of old tiled buildings. No real plan, just vibes. Chongqing’s one of those cities that keeps surprising you. It’s gritty, full of life, and somehow super cozy. If you like walking and exploring, this city’s made for it.
