Chobokuri Inari Shrine

The enshrined deity is Uka no Mitama no Kami Approximately 350 years ago, in the early Edo period, a fisherman named Chokuro, who came to Choshi from Kishu with Jiroemon Sakiyama, who developed the town and port of Togawa, commissioned Fushimi Inari Taisha Shrine in Kyoto. Around 2002, the shrine was badly damaged, so women in the neighborhood pooled their money to build a new shrine. However, it was later destroyed in the Great East Japan Earthquake and is currently in the process of being rebuilt. I think there are pros and cons as to the shape of the shrine, but I think it's good to have a shrine like this. From the temple grounds, you can enjoy a spectacular view of the horizon. There is no parking lot in sight, but you can park by passing through the torii gate and entering the shrine grounds.
