Zhangjiajie Grand Canyon & Glass Bridge (Ice Skybridge)

Visiting the Zhangjiajie Grand Canyon is quite a mixed experience. The Glass Bridge is undoubtedly the main attraction: it offers spectacular views and a guaranteed adrenaline rush. The zipline might also be worth trying, but that's about it. Beyond that, the rest of the canyon isn't really worth the trip. The 3 km walk is pleasant, but everything feels very artificial: • The river water seems manipulated and artificially colored, • The waterfalls are fake, • And overall, it feels more like an amusement park than a natural site. A few tips if you decide to go: • Go very early in the morning: by 9 AM, it gets crowded, and the heat becomes unbearable. • Bring your passport; it's mandatory for entry. • Don't expect a nature immersion – it's primarily a tourist attraction centered around the bridge. Unless you're determined to walk on this Glass Bridge, you'd be better off spending your time at Zhangjiajie National Park, which is far more authentic and spectacular.
