#myhiddengems When I started planning my trip to Moselle Valley. I began researching about a good destination that can form the base. Turns out Cochem was it. This medieval town is located in the heart of the Moselle Valley. Besides being a suitable base. On it's own, Cochem offers a lovely natural landscape with its lush vineyards, riverside promenades and important historical sites like the Cochem Castle, which is undoubtedly amongst the country’s most splendid castles. Cochem is a year round destination. However, summer is the peak travel season for Germany. Meaning the prices are higher. Another advantage of summer travel is the weather will be warm, there will be sunny days and the town will be more lively. Cochem is also known for festivals from time to time. During my stop in August I had the first hand experience of Cochem Castle Festival. At that time the vineyard trips were fun. My main purpose of Cochem trip was a solid base for Rhine and moselle.
