There are so many hidden gems we wouldn’t have found if we didn’t rent a car! Our local driver stopped at many places that weren’t full of tourists, took us to the picture perfect flower fields, scenic lake spots, and the villages where locals still share so much of the Bai culture. We also wanted to bring back some souvenirs, tie dye, Dali silver, tea etc. He was able to help us find more authentic places to buy and bring back our favorites! You have the car for 9 hours, to enjoy the drive through the mountains, forest and fresh air. We covered so much, and we’re able to see so much than we bargained for!
