As Relais & Châteaux's debut property in the Southwest, even the air here carries a sense of ceremony. ♨️ Room Experience—A Healing Retreat Hidden in Bamboo Forest The hotel's 18 rooms are all named after traditional Chinese herbs. We stayed in the "Jade Bamboo" room, where the moment you open the door, the aroma of herbs greets you. Beside the bathtub, there’s a pre-prepared herbal bath bundle. As night falls, soaking in the medicinal bath is incredibly soothing. The room features minimalist Chinese decor, rich in thoughtful details. 🏠 The hotel’s public areas are another highlight, with the entire property tucked away in the mountain wilderness. There are courtyard rooms, a hillside café, and elevated rooms—each offering unique charm and breathtaking views. Stroll along the stone paths or relax on a chair by the grassy lawn. 🌿 The schedule at the lobby entrance lists the day’s activities. During our stay, options included a light mountain hike, bamboo shoot digging, and herb picking—immersive experiences to connect with nature. In the afternoon, we tried our hand at making stone-ground tofu, which was both fun and rewarding. 🍴 Dinner featured local Qingcheng Mountain cuisine, exquisitely presented. Four appetizing cold dishes were paired with stir-fried pork with green peppers—the thinly sliced meat melted in the mouth. The garlic-flavored river fish was tender and perfectly complemented the rice, while the flavorful stone pot chicken, loaded with fresh vegetables, was a highlight.
