George Town Street Art – Penang’s Open-Air Gallery

One of the highlights of my trip to Penang was exploring the street art in George Town. It’s not just decoration - it has become one of the city’s most iconic attractions and a living open-air museum that reflects local culture, history, and creativity. 🎨 Why it’s special: Back in 2012, Lithuanian artist Ernest Zacharevic was commissioned to create murals for the George Town Festival. His playful and interactive works, such as Kids on a Bicycle and Boy on a Motorcycle, captured the heart of the city.
