In my opinion, taking the guided tour is the best way to experience the Cheong Fatt Tze Mansion. Built at the end of the 19th century by the wealthy merchant Cheong Fatt Tze, the mansion has 38 rooms and once housed most of his seven wives. The interior is beautifully preserved, and our guide was very helpful in explaining the fascinating history behind the house and its architecture. Interestingly, the mansion also operates as a boutique hotel — so yes, you can actually stay there!
