My plan for the day was simple and budget-friendly: just walk—slowly, aimlessly, gratefully—toward Schloss Ort, the fairytale castle that floats on the water. From Town to Lake Leaving the town square behind, I followed the lakeside promenade. Swans drifted along the edge, kids were laughing in pedal boats, and the air was warm but fresh, touched by the breeze off the lake. All around me, mountains framed the scene—sharp green ridges rising behind the glimmering water. Schloss Ort Appears Like a Dream Then, suddenly, it appeared—Schloss Ort, sitting serenely on a tiny island just offshore, connected by a long wooden bridge. White walls, onion-domed tower, surrounded entirely by lake. It looked almost too perfect to be real. Crossing the bridge, each step made the castle feel closer, more magical.
