Aomori Goshogawara - Ashino Park (Hydrangeas)

Ashino Park, located in Goshogawara City, Aomori Prefecture, is one of the area's renowned flower-viewing spots. While famous for cherry blossoms in spring, the park transforms in summer (June to July) as hydrangeas take center stage, painting the park in dreamy shades of lavender, pale blue, and white. The park features shaded walking paths and a pond, with hydrangeas scattered along trails, near the water, and around the train station. Especially after rain, the hydrangeas become even more enchanting, their petals glistening with dewdrops. The tranquil and seasonal atmosphere makes it an ideal spot for leisurely strolls, photography, or pairing your visit with a ride on the local Tsugaru Railway to experience a truly "slow travel" vibe. Additionally, this park is the hometown of renowned writer Osamu Dazai.
