Hidden Gem in Xingyi! A Healing Stay at Shilong Youke Guesthouse

This time, I visited the Wanfenglin Scenic Area in Xingyi and deliberately avoided the popular tourist spots. Instead, I chose to stay at the "Shilong Youke Guesthouse," tucked away in the Shilong Health Valley. It did not disappoint! Nestled in a loquat orchard deep within the karst peaks, the guesthouse features green brick walls, dark gray tiles, and wooden fences, creating a poetic and picturesque atmosphere. Waking up to the sound of birds in the morning, I opened the window to a sea of lush greenery, with the air filled with refreshing negative ions. **A Double Delight of Facilities and Service!** The rooms retain traditional rammed earth structures, complemented by modern wooden furniture. The balcony offers a stunning view of the cloud-covered peaks. The highlight of the stay was the "rural living experience" provided by the guesthouse—hand-grinding soybeans to make tofu, roasting glutinous rice cakes by the fire, and more. Kids had a blast, and adults were able to relive childhood memories. The owner, Ah Tao, was as friendly as an old friend. Not only did he upgrade our room for free, but he also took us on a nighttime village tour, where we tasted freshly picked vegetables and fruits. He even invited us to try the local specialty, "sour bamboo shoot tofu fish," a dish so authentic and flavorful that it left a lasting impression. If you're tired of the hustle and bustle of city life, this is the perfect place to rejuvenate your mind and body!
