One of the memories that still lingers in my mind is the moment I cycled across Hakuba Bridge amidst a serene atmosphere surrounded by nature. The cycling route in Hakuba is neither rushed nor filled with steep, intimidating slopes. It’s simple and perfect for those who want to let their minds wander with the sound of bicycle wheels on the road and the gentle rustling of leaves in the wind. When I reached the bridge, I remember looking up to see the Japanese Alps stretching out before me, their snow-capped peaks contrasting beautifully against the clear blue sky—like a living postcard. Beneath the bridge, a crystal-clear river flowed, with sunlight shimmering on its surface. Occasionally, flocks of birds would fly by, and at other times, there was only "silence," more melodious than any music. I’m not sure if it was the cool, refreshing air, the fatigue from cycling, or the undisturbed quiet, but at that moment, I felt an inexplicable sense of "peace." It wasn’t a tourist spot where you rush to take photos; it was a place where you’d want to stop your bike, stay still, and immerse yourself in the tranquility.
