Tea houses, craft workshops, and small galleries were hidden in every alley, and the scent of freshly baked honey buns wafted through the air from the occasional traditional snack shop. Sitting under the colorful lanterns and gazing at the river, it felt as if the city's time was taking a breather— a quieter place than West Lake, and offering a glimpse into the real life of Hangzhou.
