A century-old temple in the bustling city of Mong Kok @ Tai Shek Kwok Kwun Yam Temple

Dashigu Guanyin Temple, also known as Shandong Street Shuiyue Palace, Dashigu Temple or Dashigu Shuiyue Palace, is located at 90 Shandong Street, Mong Kok, Kowloon, opposite the MacPherson Stadium. It is a Grade III historic building in Hong Kong, surrounded by high-rise buildings, with traditional Chinese design, red walls and green tile roofs. Shuiyue Palace has a two-in-three-bay structure, with a government office and a college on both sides. On the stone door of the main hall is engraved the couplet "When you look at the void, all existence and everything are illusions. Only when the sound reaches silence can you see the truth." The main hall is dedicated to Guanyin, and there are couplets on both sides of the shrine: "Avalokitesvara is in the purple bamboo forest, and Tathagata is seen on the red lotus seat." To the left and right of the Guanyin statue are accompanying gods such as Bao Gong, Wong Tai Sin and Dragon Mother. The side halls on the left and right were once used as academies and public offices, and housed the Ksitigarbha Bodhisattva Hall and the Tathagata Buddha Hall. The temple houses a number of precious cultural relics, such as two antique plaques dating back to 1927, a Guanyin bronze fan, an incense table, and lotus lanterns for believers to pray for blessings. #Mongkok Attractions #Dashigu Guanyin Temple #Shandong Street Shuiyue Palace
