I still remember the old Kai Tak Airport, one of the world's busiest international airports. Even after closing in 1998, it remains a legend in aviation history. Follow me as I wander the old districts of Kowloon, searching for traces of Kai Tak Airport. 📍AIRSIDE "AIRSIDE" means "airport restricted area." The mall was built near the former Kai Tak Airport site, hence the name. Kai Tak AIRSIDE is an aviation-themed mall and a cultural landmark in Kowloon East, offering a variety of dining, shopping, exhibitions, and more. Through the exhibitions, you can relive the glory days of the old Kai Tak Airport. ️ 📍San Po Kong The San Po Kong Industrial Area was also part of the former airport area. Later... Kai Tak Airport moved south, and part of this area has been developed into an industrial zone. Ten-story buildings, old shops, and streets and alleys all convey the unique atmosphere of the old town. This area is also a vibrant green space. Within a few minutes' walk, you'll find greenery everywhere. Each small park boasts towering trees, creating a sense of detachment from the hustle and bustle of the city. Airside, crossing the pedestrian bridge, takes you to San Po Kong.
