[Hong Kong Attractions] Jubilee Battery: A historical site worth a visit!

#Hong Kong Attractions Jubilee Battery is a former coastal defence battery in Hong Kong. It is located at the western foot of Mount Davis on Hong Kong Island, at the junction of Victoria Road and Mount Davis Road. The English name of the battery is derived from the old name of Victoria Road, Victoria Jubilee Road, which means the 25th anniversary of Queen Victoria's accession to the throne. The battery was completed in 1939 and has three gun positions equipped with three 6-inch coastal defense guns to defend the waterways in the west of Victoria Harbour. In 2004, the Sunset Pavilion, built on the site of the Jubilee Battery, was officially opened and became a pavilion for viewing the sunset and sea view. In 2013, the No. 2 Gun Position of the Jubilee Battery and its surrounding buildings were listed as Hong Kong's Grade III historic buildings and were handed over to the University of Chicago for conversion into a Hong Kong campus.
