Don't just stick to Yau Tsim Mong when you go to Hong Kong!

Everyone says Yau Tsim Mong is great, but the "suburbs" are the real treasure! After visiting Yau Tsim Mong and Hong Kong Island many times, I started exploring Hong Kong's "suburbs" and found that the "suburbs" are actually the gems~ A relaxing one-day trip to Sha Tin: Transportation: East Rail Line from Futian Port to Sha Tin, about 30 minutes Main attractions: New Town Plaza: Food, fun, shopping; the mall layout is as complicated as ever, it might take 3-5 hours to explore fully Sha Tin Town Hall and Sha Tin Public Library: Right next to New Town Plaza, a great spot I discovered when looking for a restroom Sha Tin Park: Just across from Sha Tin Public Library, a pleasant walk along the riverside path Hong Kong Heritage Museum: Surprisingly great! (Personally, I think it's better than the Hong Kong Museum of History) About a 10-15 minute walk along Sha Tin Park, no reservation needed, tickets can be bought on-site Opening hours: Monday, Wednesday, Friday 10 AM to 6 PM Saturday, Sunday, and public holidays 10 AM to 7 PM Last admission 30 minutes before closing, it takes about 2-3 hours to see everything The museum has permanent and special exhibition halls; permanent exhibitions are free, some special exhibitions may require tickets. I was particularly impressed by the Jin Yong exhibition on the first floor, showcasing many of Mr. Jin Yong’s manuscripts and footage of his works from decades ago. There is also a Bruce Lee exhibition on the way, with rich collections including many images and stills from Bruce Lee’s growth and works that I saw for the first time, plus classic movie posters that instantly brought back childhood memories—highly recommended. After visiting the Hong Kong Heritage Museum, my biggest feeling is how much I miss the glorious era of Hong Kong cinema. Others: If you have time, you can also visit Che Kung Temple and Tsang Tai Uk I've always wanted to experience horse racing, so I'll try it next time~
