Anticipation Before Departure 🎒 When planning this cruise trip, I was deeply attracted by the charm of "vacation at sea + multiple port stops." In 2025, Star Cruises will relaunch the "Navigator Dream," departing from Hong Kong or other Asian home ports. The itineraries include 2–3 nights of high seas cruising and 5-night long voyages, with destinations covering Taiwan (Keelung, Kaohsiung, Penghu), Vietnam (Halong Bay, Da Nang, Nha Trang), and even Okinawa, Japan (Naha, Ishigaki Island). The "Navigator Dream" can accommodate approximately 1,800 passengers, with a gross tonnage of about 78,000 tons. It transforms a medium-sized cruise ship into a vacation vessel rich in facilities and activities. Boarding and First Impressions Boarding Process From the home port (assuming Hong Kong), passengers gather at the cruise terminal to handle luggage check-in, security checks, and boarding procedures. Crew members check documents, issue room keys and itineraries, and mark the location of your room and related facilities. On the day of boarding, there will definitely be welcome drinks or activities to help passengers get familiar with the ship's atmosphere and facilities. Exploring the Cabin and Public Areas Entering my room, it was an ocean-view/balcony room (depending on the chosen cabin type), offering a view of the boundless sea outside the window. Though the space was not large, it was cozy and clean. Balcony room guests often enjoy additional perks, such as designated seating and welcome drinks (according to information, these are benefits set by Star Cruises for balcony rooms). The public areas are decorated in a bright style, blending Asian aesthetics with modern touches. There are bars, themed restaurants, open decks, water facilities, fitness centers, and spas. Many passengers start exploring right after boarding: the deck, poolside, leisure areas, theater lobby... every corner is filled with a sense of anticipation. Onboard Facilities and Entertainment Highlights Themed Restaurants and Buffets: Offering Asian, Chinese, Western, and Southeast Asian cuisine, with halal options available. Performances and Concerts: The theater lobby hosts music, dance, magic shows, and other performances every night, making it the highlight of cruise nightlife. Water Slides and Pools: A paradise for water-loving passengers to cool off and have fun onboard. Gym, Spa/Massage: Perfect for relaxation or exercise, these facilities provide a space for physical and mental rejuvenation. Deck Strolls and Scenic Spots: Morning or evening walks on the open deck, watching the horizon and feeling the sea breeze, are among my favorite moments. Game Rooms/Indoor Activities: Including board games, arcade areas, lectures, and craft workshops, suitable for family or group interactions. Tips: Since many facilities have peak hours, it’s better to go early or avoid popular times (like noon or after dinner).
