Gulangyu Cruise 🇭🇰Depart from Hong Kong for a five-day island cruise 🚢

Embark on a five-day, four-night trip to Ishigaki Island from Hong Kong aboard the Gulangyu Cruise, with two days of sea cruising and one day of island excursions. Friendly reminder for those prone to seasickness: bring your own seasickness medicine and try to book a cabin on a lower floor, preferably 6th floor or lower. A daily newsletter will be provided on board to announce the day's activities, allowing you to choose your own schedule. There's a wide variety of activities, including daily singing and dancing performances. Of the three performances, the neon circus show was my favorite. For dining on board, you can choose the Lido buffet on the 12th floor; each meal is unique and delicious. For a more refined dining experience, try the set menu at the 6th floor restaurant. The downside is that you might not like every dish. There are also duty-free shops and a cultural and creative store on board, as well as a selection of Sha Tin Racecourse-exclusive ponies. You can also join a guided tour of Ishigaki Island for $98. However, space is limited, so if it's full, you'll have to explore on your own. Individual tours are usually the last to disembark. A three-hour chartered car proved sufficient, considering the island is quite small. The boat ride to Kabira Bay takes 30 minutes. You can buy your ferry ticket right there, skipping the lines. The boat is out for 30 minutes, and you can see clownfish and coral, but no baby turtles. After the glass-bottom boat ride, you can relax on the beach, take photos, and admire the ocean. The entire trip takes about an hour. Then, we asked the driver to take us to lunch. We chose a restaurant near AEON called Subimiyakiniku. The owner spoke English, which was a delight. Since we missed lunch, the restaurant closed in just half an hour, so we couldn't order BBQ and had to settle for a simple set meal. The soba noodles were incredibly delicious, and the beef patties were incredibly tender. Regular beef patties can't compare. Be aware that many restaurants on Ishigaki Island close their lunch orders at 1 p.m., so reservations are recommended. Afterward, we grabbed some Japanese snacks nearby. The supermarkets offer more affordable options than the public market. I highly recommend a slow cruise on the Gulangyu Island cruise ship.
