Hongcun, located in Huangshan City, Anhui Province, is a village that preserves many ancient buildings from the Ming and Qing dynasties. It was registered as a World Heritage Site in 2000. The layout of the village is often compared to the shape of a cow. The bridge floating on Nanhu Lake at the entrance of the village is particularly picturesque, attracting many tourists who come to take photos. It's also a popular spot for young people to sketch. Inside the village, traditional buildings with white walls and black tiles line the streets, offering a delightful sense of stepping back in time. Many of these buildings have been converted into restaurants, hotels, and souvenir shops, creating a lively tourist atmosphere. You can also stay overnight in one of the village's guesthouses and enjoy the serene mornings and evenings. The village's ground is paved with rugged cobblestones, so if you have a suitcase with wheels, it's a good idea to ask the guesthouse owner in advance to help transport your luggage from the entrance. Otherwise, the wheels of your suitcase might get damaged. There are also shops selling a famous local delicacy from the Huangshan region called "Mao Tofu." The "Mao" refers to mold, which gives the tofu a creamy, cheese-like flavor. While it might not be to everyone's taste, it's worth trying at least once.
