A must-see autumn scenery tour of Huizhou from Shenzhen this weekend (including travel guide)

At the tail end of autumn, I spent two days traveling to southern Anhui to enjoy the autumn colors 🍂. Although I missed the peak season, I avoided the crowds and enjoyed a more tranquil and leisurely experience. Below is the complete itinerary for your reference~ Itinerary: D1 Shenzhen North 🚄 Huangshan North 15:06-20:04, overnight stay in Lucun D2 Lucun Sunrise - Hongcun - Tachuan - Xiecun - Qishu Lake, then visit Hongcun in the evening to see the intangible cultural heritage fish lanterns. This is a well-established hiking route, over 10 kilometers long, passing through rice paddies and forests, immersing you in the autumn colors of southern Anhui. There are many cafes and farmhouses along the way, where you can stop for a rest and a meal. If you don't want to walk too much, you can simply find a cafe to relax in the sun and enjoy tea or coffee. 📍Gu Xi Cafe, located at the entrance of Lucun village; coffee purchases include a free cup. 📍Xi Shi Xiao Yuan, a supply station along the hike. 📍Wu Zhang Zhang Cultural and Creative Aesthetics Space, a cafe in Tachuan, with a large rice paddy and redwood trees right outside. 📍Yuezhao Bookstore, located in the center of Hongcun; not crowded in the morning. Day 3: Qishu Lake Sunrise - Stroll around Hongcun, have lunch, then head to the high-speed rail station, Yixian East to Shenzhen North. 14:40-20:35 Food 🍽️ To be honest, I'm not a big fan of Anhui cuisine, but since I was already there, I had to try it. I can recommend two places I ate at that were pretty good! Lucun Mountain and Water Views: Fish head hotpot + braised pork with winter bamboo shoots (a local restaurant recommended by the guesthouse owner; all dishes were freshly cooked 😋) Jushantang Official Residence Private Kitchen: Stinky mandarin fish (better than expected), stir-fried ham with local chili peppers (the dried tofu inside was delicious) Accommodation 🏨 We booked a guesthouse (Guanting Bieyuan) in Lucun for both nights. Lucun is less commercialized than Hongcun, much quieter at night. The guesthouse was quite clean, and the owner even upgraded our room. The room rate included breakfast and Lucun entrance tickets. Electric scooter charging was provided, and it's only a 10-minute walk to the Lucun viewing platform in the morning.
