[Little World] St. George's Chapel, Germany

Georg was a Roman soldier, and according to legend, he bravely saved a princess from an evil dragon in Silene (present-day Libya). He was executed for resisting the Roman Emperor's persecution of Christians, and is venerated as Christianity's greatest martyr. The chapel is built in the early Baroque architectural style, and the interior consists of a chancel with an altar, prayer stalls, and a nave with a painted ceiling. The ceiling is painted with images of the Virgin Mary and Christ, creating a majestic atmosphere. The bells in the bell tower were newly cast in the town of Passau, near the Austrian border. A Bavarian Baroque-style pipe organ is installed on the second floor. The pipe organ is on display on the second floor. You can listen to audio recordings of the pipe organ being played as background music in the chapel.
