This is the oldest castle tower in Japan, and it has been supported by black painted beams and columns for four hundred years. Push open the lattice window, and the clear water of the Kiso River surrounds the castle town like a ribbon, and the mountains of Gifu in the distance gradually fade in the spring haze. The Warring States generals also looked out from here, and the generals had a panoramic view of the territory. When the sunset gilded the castle, the unique warmth of the wooden building and the vast scenery outside the window weaved a quiet beauty that transcended time and space in the interweaving of light and shadow.
