This place, where the eight million gods enshrined all over the country gather, has been revered by people since ancient times, and is deeply revered as the god of matchmaking and good fortune, and it is such an ancient shrine that the origins of its founding are recorded in the Kojiki, Japan's oldest historical book! 📕 The main deity is Okuninushi-no-Okami, familiarly known as "Daikoku-sama." In the myth of the transfer of the country, recorded in the "Kojiki," Okuninushi-no-Okami transferred the country to Amaterasu-Omikami of Takamagahara, and the magnificent palace that was built at that time is said to be the beginning of "Izumo Taisha" 🥸 *Near the entrance to the shrine grounds, there is also a "Musubi no Okami statue" of the main deity, Okuninushi-no-Okami, which was quite large when viewed up close 👀 And one of the famous things about "Izumo Taisha" is the "O-Shimenawa" that is displayed in front of the Kagura Hall 🪢 It is one of the largest in Japan, so when you see it up close, you can see its size and impressive scale! In fact, this "big shimenawa" is replaced every few years, but it takes 1,000 people to create a new shimenawa, and it takes more than a year, so it's truly a gift of human labor...😳 The way to worship is also different from other shrines, with "two bows, four claps, one bow," which gives you a special feeling that you can only get at this place!
