Ginkaku-ji (Silver Pavilion)

1. Silver Pavilion (Kannondō) Originally planned to be adorned with silver foil, the pavilion was never completed, making it a prime example of wabi-sabi in wooden architecture. 2. Garden – Sand and Moss Garden - Ginshadan (Sea of Silver Sand): A dry garden featuring wave patterns on silver sand, creating a stunning visual effect. - Kogetsudai (Moon Viewing Platform): A large conical mound of sand symbolizing a place to appreciate the moon. The moss garden and pond surrounding Ginkaku-ji offer a unique charm that changes with the seasons. 3. Tōgudō This building, constructed in the Shoinzukuri style, houses Japan's oldest tea room, Dōjinsai, preserved within. 4. Scenic Walking Path A path encircling the garden leads to a hilltop observation deck, where visitors can enjoy panoramic views of Ginkaku-ji, Kyoto city, and the Higashiyama mountains.
