Pure Energy at Jokhang Temple

#chinatravel Spent a morning at Jokhang Temple in Lhasa, Tibet Autonomous Region, and honestly? It was one of the most powerful experiences I’ve ever had. You can feel the energy before you even step inside, pilgrims prostrating out front, the smell of incense in the air, prayer flags fluttering everywhere. It’s intense, but in the best way. Inside, it’s dark, warm, and full of flickering butter lamps and golden statues. Every corner has this deep, spiritual atmosphere. Locals were walking clockwise around the temple, spinning prayer wheels and chanting softly, it felt sacred but also incredibly welcoming. Climbing up to the rooftop was a major highlight. You get these unreal views of Lhasa city with the Potala Palace in the background. Totally surreal. Jokhang isn’t just another tourist stop, it’s alive. It’s got heart. Whether you're spiritual or not, it leaves a mark. If you're anywhere near Lhasa, do not skip this place. Just go slow, soak it in, and let it move you.
