Spring is the perfect time to visit Lijiang, Yunnan: the weather is ideal, the hordes of summer tourists haven't yet arrived, and the fruit trees are blossoming. We spent a very enjoyable couple of days wandering the streets of the old town, tasting local food and sipping coffee made from beans grown in Yunnan. Lijiang is undoubtedly a tourist destination, but it's one well worth visiting. The old town is small enough to be covered on foot (indeed, most of it is closed to vehicle traffic), so get a guesthouse in or near the old town (we stayed just outside the north gate, where a small hill gives a great view of the area) and leave the traffic jams of metropolitan China behind. #leaveyourmark #urbanexplorer #lightthecity #lijiang #yunnan #china #historicallandmarks #oldtown #coffee #mountains #tourism #springblossoms

If you happen to be in Yunnan Province for the Tomb Sweeping holiday, then Lijiang is a must visit for sure. Lijiang Ancient Town is a UNESCO world heritage site and has a history going back more than 1,000 years. This city is also home to the Naxi Chinese ethnic minority and you can try the local cuisine which is mouth watering 🤤 I recommend going to Baisha village which is just a short ride away via public bus to get more local foods as well as hand crafted items! Honestly stepping into Lijiang felt like something out of a storybook, everywhere was absolutely stunning and photos don’t do the city justice. #yunnantravel #yunnan #lijiang #scenicspotguide#urbanexplorer#qingmingtravel

I’ve been lucky to see many amazing places in #china. Few, however, compare to the natural beauty found all over #yunnan Province. The scenery on the road from Shangri-La to Lijiang was really incredible. Lots of blue skies and snow-capped mountains. Also enjoyed visiting Lijiang Old Town, which is a UNESCO World Heritage Site. It’s filled with small alleyways and shops. Found an amazing book store and overall had a great time. Highly recommended venturing out here if you have the chance. #unescoworldheritage #lightthecity#roadtrip#urbanexplorer
