Spring brought blooming flowers and fresh air, making it perfect for aimless exploration. The Naxi culture was on full display — locals in traditional dress, Dongba symbols on walls, and music from the square dancing in Sifang Street. As the sun dipped lower, red lanterns lit up and the town’s romantic side came alive. Despite being popular with tourists, there are still quiet corners and scenic rooftops if you wander away from the main crowds. The atmosphere was vibrant but not overwhelming — a living blend of culture, history, and modern leisure. Travel Tips: • Best time to visit: Afternoon to evening — stay for golden hour and night lights. • Wear comfortable shoes: Streets are stone-paved and sometimes uneven. • Avoid peak crowd zones: Explore side alleys for quieter, authentic scenes. • Try local snacks: Like rose cakes, yak jerky, and Lijiang-style noodles. • Respect local customs: Especially in cultural spaces or religious areas. • Photographers’ tip: Rooftop bars and small bridges offer great golden hour shots.
