Day Trip to Liyang

Around the hotel, you'll find attractions like Liyang No. 1 Rainbow Road, Nanshan Bamboo Sea Scenic Area, Fangsuo Cultural Village, and Pingqiao Stone Dam. Even Dajue Temple and Yaohu Town in Yixing are just a short 10-minute drive away. With limited time, we visited the two spots that interested us most: Liyang Museum and Nanshan Bamboo Sea Scenic Area. Liyang Museum offers free admission and features distinctive exterior designs. Especially during this season, the lush green grass creates an anime-like scene come to life. We squatted under the stairs for 20 minutes, finally catching a moment with no passersby, and quickly asked Ran Shao to snap a couple of photos for us. Surprisingly, they turned out great—hahaha! Nanshan Bamboo Sea Scenic Area is a national 5A-level attraction, boasting 35,000 acres of emerald bamboo forests. Breathing here feels noticeably fresher. This time, I was in charge of buying tickets, and—no surprise—I messed up again. I came specifically for the red cable cars but accidentally bought tickets for the chairlift instead. Total facepalm moment, folks! Thankfully, after some negotiation, we were able to switch to the cable cars—otherwise, it would've been another disaster 😭. Sigh, leave things to me, and you're in for a headache! We did eventually get to see the giant pandas, though—caught one munching on its hand, which was absolutely adorable~ As we were leaving, we spotted another panda sprawled by the entrance, easy to miss if you weren't paying attention. While its colleagues were hard at work "entertaining" visitors, this one was butt-up, fast asleep! Liyang Quchanli Hot Spring Resort is a perfect destination for a getaway. The hotel is stunning inside and out, making for an exceptionally relaxing stay. Beyond that, you can enjoy hot springs and participate in hotel activities, filling up a 2-day, 1-night itinerary. If you also want to explore nearby attractions, you’d need at least two nights. For those coming from Changzhou, Hangzhou, Nanjing, Shanghai, or Wuxi, it’s just a one- to two-hour drive, making it super convenient. Whether you're looking for a weekend recharge to shake off work stress, a family trip with the kids, or a brief change of pace with loved ones, this is a great choice.
