Chengde | National Forest Park Baicaowa

Baicaowa National Forest Park is a national forest park located in Luanping County, Chengde City, Hebei Province, China. It was approved for establishment by Document No. 274 issued by the State Forestry Administration on December 2, 2002. The park covers a total area of 5,396 hectares and is situated in the middle section of the Yanshan Mountains, 170 kilometers from Beijing, 40 kilometers from Chengde City, and 25 kilometers from the world-famous Jinshanling Great Wall. The park is divided into four scenic areas: Shuanglongtan Scenic Area, Qianqing Birch Forest Scenic Area, Baicaowa Scenic Area, and Zhuanshan Lake Scenic Area. The park boasts the largest and most well-preserved birch forest in North China and is the closest national forest park to the capital, Beijing. The park is rich in natural landscape resources such as mountains, water, rocks, vegetation, and climate, with beautiful and unique scenery. Coupled with the profound historical and cultural heritage of the surrounding area and the park itself, it has become an excellent place for developing forest eco-tourism along the Beijing-Chengde tourism line. It is also a provincial-level nature reserve in Hebei Province.
