After exiting the tunnel (Jin Yin Ao Tunnel), you'll immediately see a large open area, which means you've arrived. On the left-hand side, you'll see a car wash in front of an open space where you can park (though it's not an official parking lot, parking is free and there are restrooms available). Alternatively, you can drive directly to "Xia Pingzi" village, but the cement road from the open area down to "Xia Pingzi" village is very steep (drive down from the left-hand side). The road is relatively narrow, so be cautious when passing other vehicles. Once in the village, try to find an open area to park without obstructing the villagers' travel. Distance: Approximately 180 kilometers one way from Kunming, with a driving time of about 3 hours. The journey from Kunming to Luquan County takes about 1.5 hours on the highway, followed by another 1.5 hours on the national road (the national road has relatively few vehicles but features many curves and sharp turns). The hike starts from the village and heads downhill. Anti-slip shoes are recommended. The endpoint is the grand waterfall, and the return journey follows the same route. The round-trip hiking time is about 2.5 hours, including time for taking photos. The scenery along the way is stunning, especially the mountains on both sides, which evoke the "Southern Taihang" vibe. At the lowest point, there is a river where you can play in the water with water shoes (ensure safety while playing in the water). Near the endpoint, there is a large rock that requires rappelling.
