#MacauAttractions The Golden Lotus Square, located between Gomes Street, Bethesda Avenue and Friendship Avenue in the New Port of Macau, China, is a theme square built to celebrate the return of Macau in 1999. The large-scale Lotus sculpture placed in the Golden Lotus Square is 6 meters high and weighs 6.5 tons. The maximum diameter of the flower body is 3.6 meters. These dimensions are the same as those of the ever-blooming Bauhinia flower, implying that Hong Kong and Macao are of equal size. The blooming lotus symbolizes Macau’s eternal prosperity. The three overlapping layers of red granite base are shaped like lotus leaves, symbolizing the three islands of Macau. There is a small plaque on the front of the granite, with the name "Lotus of Prosperity", symbolizing the eternal prosperity of Macau. Golden Lotus Square is also one of Macau’s landmark attractions.
