Malta, a small island in the Mediterranean, steeped in light and history

#July Travel Support Fund Malta was small enough to see everything at a glance, but the scenery and emotions contained within were by no means small. The colors of Europe, the Mediterranean, and North Africa mixed together to create a unique charm, and the scenery created by the sea and alleys was truly warm. Valletta was the heart of Malta and the most charming old town. The alleys lined with yellow limestone buildings and the stairs reaching up to the sky created a cinematic landscape. The Grand Harbour seen from the Upper Barrakka Gardens was breathtakingly wide open, and the sea breeze there made me feel the leisurely atmosphere of Malta. The Blue Lagoon on Comino Island was the highlight of my trip to Malta. The clear sea that I could see all the way to my feet, the emerald waves that changed color depending on the light… Just floating in it felt unreal. In St. Julian’s and Sliema, Malta’s daily life and travel were naturally mixed. I walked along the seaside promenade and ended the day by enjoying a glass of wine on a cafe terrace as the sunset slowly covered the sea. Malta was a good travel destination even if there wasn't much to 'do'. It's a place where the time spent doing nothing is more special.
