Instantly agreeing with friends, we embarked on a dreamy 6-day, 5-night trip to the Hulunbuir Grassland. Every scene was as breathtakingly beautiful as a movie frame. Here’s a travel guide for you👇 · ⭐Itinerary⭐ Day 1️⃣ Gather in Hailar First encounter with Hulunbuir! The moment we got off the bus, we felt the unique fresh air of the grassland. First, check into the hotel and rest for a while. In the evening, stroll and eat around the city. Be sure to try the local Mongolian cuisine—the roasted lamb chops are finger-licking good, and the salty, rich milk tea is incredibly addictive! Day 2️⃣ Hulunbuir—Crossing the uninhabited grassland—Morigele River—Private ranch grassland BBQ—Wild white birch forest sea—Lengji Genhe After breakfast, set off on the Hulunbuir grassland crossing journey. Along the way, admire the “Nine Bends” Morigele River! Standing on a high slope overlooking it, the river winds like a silver ribbon flowing over the grassland. Explore the “star” of Ne Zha 2—the marmot. In the afternoon, continue crossing the wild white birch forest sea, where every snapshot is a masterpiece📸 Day 3️⃣ Genhe—De’erbul Xing’an Deer Park—Moerdaoga Forest Train—Crossing the Greater Khingan Range forest area—Taiping century-old wooden house—Lincai rafting—Eagle’s Beak—Fairy Slope—Linjiang Visit the adorable reindeer park and get up close with the reindeer. Ride the forest train through the Greater Khingan Range, letting your body and mind return to nature. Then take a raft downstream, releasing stress amid splashes and laughter. At sunset, arrive at Fairy Slope, where the sunset glow spills over the Erguna border river, creating a romantic moment with shimmering golden light. Day 4️⃣ Linjiang—Border defense checkpoint line—Natural Taiji diagram—Grassland train + grass sledding—Heishantou Equestrian Club horse riding experience—Bonfire party—Mongolian yurt accommodation After breakfast, head to Shiwei Port to overlook the Russian town across the river. The scenery along the China-Russia border is uniquely charming. Then follow the border defense checkpoints: Jiuka—Baka—Qika, and the natural Taiji diagram. Enjoy beautiful scenery all the way to Heishantou. In the afternoon, rush to the grassland to ride the Harmony grassland train and feel the summer of Hayao Miyazaki. Grass sledding enthusiasts will be thrilled by the 1,300-meter-long slide—truly exhilarating. Then ride horses to roam the grassland, feeling the freedom of the nomads on horseback, with laughter echoing through the sky and earth. After the bonfire party, stay overnight in a luxurious Mongolian yurt, gazing at the starry sky—so healing~~ Day 5️⃣ Heishantou—Barhu Mongolian Tribe—Spectacular horse dance performance—Joyful folk experience park—Border defense Manzhouli Manzhouli The breathtaking “Horse Dance” live equestrian show features thrilling acts like horse picking, hidden stirrups, and flying swallows on horseback. Then check in at the folk park, which offers multiple live performances and various grassland entertainment options to choose from freely. Next, head to Manzhouli, a city full of exotic charm that’s great for shopping! The giant Matryoshka dolls at Doll Square are stunning, the night lights on Sino-Russian Street are dazzling, and we also visited the popular Rubly Western restaurant, where the borscht and grilled sausages were absolutely delicious! Day 6️⃣ Manzhouli—Hulun Lake Genghis Khan’s horse tethering post—Return to Hailar On the last day, visit Hulun Lake’s Genghis Khan horse tethering post, said to be where Genghis Khan tied his horse during his western campaigns. Standing by the giant stone, feel the strong sense of history. You can also search for agate stones here. Then return to Hailar, carrying full memories and reluctance, and start the journey home~ · 💫Travel tips ✅ June to August is the most beautiful time on the grassland, perfect for graduation season.
