In the Qinbi settlement of Beigan, Matsu, stone houses nestle against the mountainside, forming a poetic scene. Amidst winding paths lies a vibrant temple: the Qinbi Tianhou Temple. Pushing open the red-lacquered gate, I gazed up to see Mazu seated at the shrine, her solemn presence yet benevolent eyes warm, as if watching over this sea and the lives of the fishermen. In the temple, I devoutly burn incense and silently recite my wishes. The sea breeze wafts through the hall, and the incense curls upward, blending with the clouds in the sky, as if conveying my prayers to the distant sea. From the stone steps in front of the temple, I gazed down upon the azure bay, where the sea and sky merged into one, making it clear why Mazu is enshrined here: because protecting the sea and fishermen has always been the deepest belief of this land. The Qinbi Tianhou Temple is more than just a temple; it is a spiritual haven. For visitors, it's a starting point for experiencing Matsu culture; for locals, it's a haven for life and the soul. Worshiping here naturally brings peace, as if sharing a moment of pure tranquility with Mazu.
