The current capital of Malta is Valletta, but before that, Mdina was the ancient capital. It means the silent city. Access is about 30 minutes from the Valletta bus terminal. When you arrive, you will see a magnificent main gate. As it is called the Silent City, it is very quiet and has a solemn atmosphere. Walking through the back alleys makes you feel like you have wandered into the medieval world. There is a cafe called Fontanella in the back of the city, and the view from there is amazing! It is famous for its chocolate cake, which is said to be the best in Malta, so be sure to try it once 🍫 The Mdina glass is very beautiful and seems to be very popular as a souvenir.
