It’s housed in a charming double-storey heritage shophouse right by the Malacca River, just a short walk from Jonker Street and Dutch Square. The cafe offers a wide variety of Malaysian delights. My favourites were: ⏩ Nasi Lemak Twin Tower Ayam Rendang. True to its name, it makes quite a statement. The first bite had me adjusting to the flavours, but the more I savoured it, the richer and more delicate the taste became — aromatic, layered, and incredibly satisfying. ⏩ Baba Kaya Signature Toast. Absolutely splendid! Perfect for breakfast, especially when paired with their Layer Iced Tea. Served with butter and their homemade tri-colour kaya was wonderful — each subtly different, yet amazing when enjoyed together. ⏩ Roti Jala with Curry Chicken. This was the unanimous favourite at the table. The roti jala was soft and silky, but the star was definitely the curry — fragrant, bold, and deeply flavourful. ⏩ Nyonya Laksa. The curry gravy was rich, creamy, and aromatic, with a beautiful balance of coconut milk, spices, and a slight sweetness that lingered pleasantly. Comforting and full-bodied. ⏩ Masala Tea Warm, soothing, and spice-forward. It had a gentle sweetness with hints of cardamom, cinnamon, and clove — fragrant without being overpowering, and a lovely way to end the meal. The open-air riverbank setting with stunning views, combined with the cozy indoor heritage-inspired decor added to the charm, making it a truly pleasant spot for a casual meal.
