Southwest Associated University Pioneer Bookstore in Mengzi

Online introduction: The bookstore is located next to the former site of the Southwest Associated University Mengzi Branch, directly reflecting the history of Peking University, Tsinghua University, and Nankai University relocating to Mengzi during the War of Resistance in 1938. Faculty and students of the Associated University established the "Nanhu Poetry Society" here, with scholars such as Zhu Ziqing and Wen Yiduo having been active in this place. The building was designed by the famous architect Zhang Ke, preserving the original tavern clock tower and brick structure, blending industrial style with regional elements. Inside, there is a spiral staircase leading to the top for a panoramic view of Nanhu Lake. We went in the evening; the bookstore building is very beautiful and distinctive, with Nanhu Lake as a backdrop, making it even more stunning... Climbing the adjacent clock tower to see the evening view of Nanhu Lake is truly a must-see scenery... The next day, we visited the Southwest Associated University Mengzi Branch Memorial Hall, returned along Nanhu Lake, and took more beautiful photos of the bookstore across the lake (last 7 pictures).
