One of the places I was most looking forward to on this trip was the Toyota Commemorative Museum of Industry and Technology (トヨタ産業技術記念館, Toyota Commemorative Museum of Industry and Technology). ⸻ 🏛 Arriving at the Exhibition Hall As soon as I entered the exhibition hall, the majestic building and expansive courtyard caught my eye. True to its name, the "Industry and Technology Commemorative Museum" showcased not only automobiles but also Toyota's roots in the textile industry, all the way to modern automotive technology. ⸻ 🧵 The Beginning of the Textile Machine Toyota wasn't originally an automobile company. On one side of the exhibition hall, old weaving and textile machines were on display, and I could even see them in action. The sound of the machines and their rhythmic movements made me think that these technologies must have transformed people's lives even 100 years ago. ⸻ 🚙 The Evolution of Automobiles The most impressive space was, of course, the automobile exhibition hall. A wide range of models were on display, from early Toyotas to the latest hybrid and hydrogen vehicles. The old classic cars, in particular, made me feel like I had traveled back in time. Their shiny exteriors, heavy bodies, and unique designs of the time were captivating. ⸻ 🔧 Experiences and Demonstrations Machine demonstrations and hands-on experience areas were set up throughout the exhibition hall. Engineers operated the machines themselves to explain them, and the sounds of metalworking and even the sparks of fire made for an educational experience for children. ⸻ ✨ Travel Impressions The Toyota exhibition hall wasn't just for car enthusiasts. It was a space of history and technology where you could experience how an industry has evolved and how a single company has become a global brand. This is a must-see attraction in Nagoya. Even I, who wasn't particularly interested in cars, left the exhibition hall with a new perspective on the name "Toyota." #Nagoya
