Okinawa Hinode Resort and Hot Spring: A Recommended Stay with a Baby

We stayed at the Okinawa Hinode Resort and Hot Spring, conveniently located near Naha Airport. With unlimited complimentary food and drinks, special events, a pool and hot spring, and a delightful breakfast, here’s why I recommend this accommodation. Location The resort is just a 2-minute walk from Makishi Station, which is 9 stops away from Naha Airport via monorail. Even with luggage, the journey was hassle-free. Nearby attractions include Kokusai Street (5-minute walk), Shurijo Castle (10 minutes by monorail), and the Prefectural Museum of Art (5 minutes by taxi or 20 minutes on foot). Check-in Check-in: 3:00 PM - Check-out: 11:00 AM The lobby features a striking ocean-inspired sculpture and a blue-themed check-in counter. A friendly staff member fluent in Korean assisted us with the check-in process. We utilized the free rental services for a baby crib, baby bathtub, and pocket Wi-Fi. While the baby bathtub was unavailable on the first day due to limited stock, we received it on the second day. Before heading to our room, we were greeted with welcome gifts, including a flower-shaped hairpin and local specialty snacks for our anniversary visit. If you’re celebrating a special occasion like a honeymoon or birthday, be sure to mention it in your reservation notes. The staff’s kindness left a great impression even before we reached our room. Room Twin Room Though not spacious, the room was impeccably clean. The flooring was tatami-style, free of dust, which was a nice touch. A bag in the room contained towels for use after swimming or visiting the hot spring. The drying rack was well-designed, accommodating over 10 pieces of clothing. The bathroom was spotless, with no mold. It came equipped with disposable toothbrushes, shampoo, and body wash. Additional amenities like facial cleansers, lotion, razors, and combs were available on the first floor. The foldable baby bathtub was compact, making it ideal for bathing newborns. With the baby crib placed next to the twin beds, there was enough space for one parent to sleep comfortably alongside the baby. Our room on the 8th floor offered a lovely view of the pool through a large window, perfect for gazing at the sky while lying down. 2nd Floor Lounge The heart of the Hinode Hotel is its 2nd-floor lounge. From 10:00 AM to 10:00 PM, guests can enjoy unlimited complimentary draft beer, highballs, wine, soft drinks, tea, and ice cream. Even after check-out, the lounge remains accessible until noon. From 8:30 PM to 9:30 PM, free ramen is served as a late-night snack. The ramen flavors change daily, ensuring variety for extended stays. Among the miso ramen, Okinawa soba, and salt ramen I tried, the salt ramen was my favorite. This time slot tends to be busy, with long lines for ramen and ice cream, and finding a seat can be challenging. Arriving early or waiting until the crowd thins out is advisable. The lounge’s large windows overlooking the pool create an open atmosphere, allowing parents to watch their kids swim while enjoying their food. Pool and Hot Spring Exiting the 2nd-floor lounge leads to the pool and open-air bath. The pool, though not large, features two depth levels and a slide, making it a fun spot for kids. The open-air bath is spacious and filled with soothing hot spring water, perfect for unwinding after a day of travel. The changing rooms and lockers are well-maintained. Since there’s no large communal bath, it’s best to dry off lightly and return to your room to shower. Laundry facilities on the 2nd floor include free washing machines (detergent included) and paid dryers. We used them daily to wash our wet clothes after visiting the hot spring. Experience Events Daily events at 5:00 PM added a refreshing touch to our stay. Activities like kimono dressing, chocolate banana making, and shooting games provided lighthearted fun. It was delightful to see kids gathering and enjoying these experiences. Breakfast Although I don’t usually enjoy breakfast, I found the meal here highly satisfying. The spread included sushi, soba, ochazuke, and other Japanese dishes, along with a variety of salads, bread, and fruits. The hot food options changed slightly each day, keeping things interesting. I recommend going early, as it gets crowded after 8:00 AM. This resort offers everything you need for a fulfilling stay without ever feeling bored.
