Wuhan Blue Transportation Station Road Church

Absolutely love this "Blue Church" built by the French, with its old wooden doors, wooden spiral staircase, and a dome adorned with white stars. As soon as you enter, you are surrounded by a deep, dreamy blue, feeling a sense of holiness and solemnity. Built in 1910 during the French concession period, French missionaries spent 12,000 taels of silver to build it exclusively for French expatriates to worship. It was known as the "French Church" or "Noble Church." During the War of Resistance: it sheltered Chinese refugees, becoming a place of peace amid chaos. Currently named Wuhan Station Road Catholic Church, originally called the "Immaculate Conception Church." The blue symbolizes the purity and nobility of the Virgin Mary, so the interior walls and stained glass are all painted blue. It is truly beautiful.
