Wandering Wild on Olkhon Island

#summervacay Olkhon Island is like a slice of magic floating in Lake Baikal. I spent a day just roaming around, and wow, it’s wild, raw, and ridiculously beautiful. The island has this untamed vibe, with dusty roads, grassy hills, and cliffside views that totally steal the show. Walking around felt like being in a nature documentary. There were open fields, herds of cows just chilling, and random pine forests that smelled amazing. I followed some trails near the lake and ended up at little hidden beaches where the water was crazy clear, and freezing, of course. Every turn felt like a new scene: rocky cliffs, quiet beaches, and those sweeping views of Baikal that just don’t get old. I even passed by some colorful prayer poles near Shaman Rock, super cool and very peaceful. No big crowds, no loud noise, just wind, waves, and wide open skies. Olkhon isn’t polished, but that’s the charm. It’s pure, slow travel at its finest. Absolutely loved every second.
