Shimanami Kaido: A Journey Across Bridges by Rental Bicycle

This time, I went to Shimanami Kaido by bicycle! It's the perfect way to refresh yourself while enjoying the beautiful ocean views as you cross the bridges. We rented bicycles in Onomichi and took a ferry to Mukaishima. From there, we crossed the Innoshima Bridge, Ikuchi Bridge, and Tatara Bridge to reach Omishima! While crossing all the bridges can be time-consuming and physically demanding, this route is manageable even for beginners. We took short breaks along the way, and the journey took about 4 hours. From Omishima, we returned to Onomichi by ferry. I’m so glad I got to experience something I’ve always wanted to try! 📍Location: About 5 minutes by ferry from Onomichi Station Shimanami Kaido is a 60 km-long road connecting Onomichi City in Hiroshima Prefecture and Imabari City in Ehime Prefecture.
