Orsay Museum Time Traveler

💞Recommended Reason: Convenient transportation, you can see the most essential masterpieces of Impressionism in one visit. 🗓️Itinerary: Besides the Louvre, the place I most want to visit is the Orsay Museum, which was converted from a train station. Unlike the Louvre, it showcases artworks from 1848 to 1914. Fearing that most of my time would be spent waiting in line, I arrived just as the museum opened. There was already a long queue at the entrance, and I waited until I was almost at the front before purchasing my ticket online. The structure of the station's hall makes the exhibition space fully visible at a glance. Sculptures are scattered along the central aisle, while the side corridors are divided into exhibition rooms by era, showing the evolution of artistic techniques. I first went straight to the fifth-floor gallery, where the Impressionist paintings are concentrated. Fortunately, I went up early, as this floor later became so crowded that it was difficult to get close to the paintings. I really like the thoughtful design of the exhibition area. Several major works by Monet or Renoir are hung on walls with skylights, allowing natural light to match the light source in the paintings, which is perfect for displaying Impressionist works that emphasize light and shadow. Recently, many immersive Impressionist exhibitions with projections have been held in Taiwan, but this feels like truly stepping into the paintings.
