Hilltop Palaces and Sneaky Monkeys at Khao Wang

#summervacay Khao Wang (aka Phra Nakhon Khiri Historical Park) in Phetchaburi totally surprised me, in the best way. It’s this gorgeous combo of royal palace, temple, and old architecture all sitting up on a hill with amazing views. You can hike up if you’re feeling sporty, or take the funicular (which feels like a mini rollercoaster lol). Once you’re up there, the vibe is super peaceful. The buildings are beautifully aged, the white chedis are super photogenic, and the views? Absolutely worth the trip. You can walk through palace halls, wander shady paths, and just soak in the calm. It’s not crowded either, which is a huge plus. But warning: monkeys! They’re cute but bold, so don’t flash any snacks unless you’re ready to share. It’s the perfect mix of history, nature, and chill. A must-do if you’re passing through Phetchaburi or heading to Hua Hin. Bring water, camera, and maybe a monkey stick.
